In test cricket, the batsman is tested by their batting skills, and how much they can survive in the crease, so the strike rate doesn’t matter here. That’s why we won’t see that many runs on a single day of test cricket. But that rule doesn’t apply to England’s test team under Ben Stokes’s Captaincy. And we have seen that in day 1 of Pakistan vs England 1st test. England Scored 506 runs for a loss of 4 wickets in just 75 overs on the first day and that is the highest-ever run scored by a single team on the first day of a test match. They broke the 113-year-old record of Australia.
