Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma, and Mayank Agarwal are just a few of the national players that are mostly absent from the list of 19 Indians with caps.
Ajinkya Rahane: Rahane was released by Kolkata Knight Riders, who had purchased him at the last auction for 1 crore. This time, his basic price is 50 lakh.
Mayank Agarwal: Agarwal was the first player retained by Punjab Kings before the big auction last year and was also given the team leadership. Agarwal, who had been paid 14 crore the previous season, was ultimately released by Kings due to a below-average campaign for both the player and the team. The base pricing for Agarwal is 1 crore.
Jaydev Unadkat: Unadkat, a left-arm fast bowler who has been among the highest-paid athletes in IPL auctions, has a base price of 50 lakh.
Ishant Sharma: Ishant, who wasn’t sold in 2022, is seeking 75 lakh this year.
Kane Williamson: Sunrisers Hyderabad released their captain Kane Williamson before the IPL 2023 mini-auction. So he will be the biggest player available for this auction. Williamson was the Orange Cap winner in IPL 2018.
Sam Curran: Before a stress fracture in his lower back led him to miss a lot of cricket, Sam Curran last participated in the competition in 2021 for Chennai Super Kings. The Super Kings previously purchased Curran for 5.5 crores, and they will make another attempt to do so. However, rival teams Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, who enter the competition with the two largest budgets, will have a better chance of securing the England all-rounder, who has a track record of winning matches with both the bat and the ball.
Ben Stokes: Stokes participated in the IPL for the final time in 2021 as well. Stokes, who played for the Rajasthan Royals, was injured and had to stop playing midway through the season. Stokes was acquired by the Royals for Rs. 12.5 crores in 2018 and was signed for the next three years. Stokes decided to leave the IPL in 2022.
Cameron Green: Prior to the T20 World Cup, Green made a big impression during Australia’s white-ball series in India, when he opened the batting and scored 118 runs with a strike rate of 214.54. So his price will go up in this auction.
There are some big players who have decided not to join this year’s IPL auction. While some players have retired from the IPL.
