Team India captain Rohit Sharma got injured in the 2nd over of the first innings. Rohit returned to the dressing room but missed the rest of Bangladesh’s innings. But at the end of the match in the press conference, Rohit Sharma gives an update on his thumb injury
Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored his first ODI century as he helped his team Bangladesh to a challenging total of 271/7. Bangladesh was struggling at 69/6 but the partnership of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah took them to a total of 271/7. While Indian hitters struggled, Bangladeshi spinners managed to win the match by a slim margin of five runs.
India was chasing a challenging total of 272. Virat Kohli came to open the innings with Shikhar Dhawan as Rohit Sharma was injured. But both the opener got out early and India was struggling at 13/2. Shreyas Iyer helped India with 82 runs, and Axar Patel hit 56 runs off 56 balls. Both Shreyas and Axar build a 100+ run partnership. But Shreyas Iyer got out in 35th over and Axar in 39th over.
Even with the injury, Rohit came to bat at no.9. Rohit Sharma’s cameo score of 51* helped India come closer to the goal. The Indian skipper left the field to have a scan after hurting his thumb while fielding in slips during the second over of the innings. After his scan, he returned to the dressing room but missed the rest of Bangladesh’s innings.
Rohit revealed in the post-game press conference that although his thumb was not in great shape, he was still able to bat because there was no fracture.
Honestly, the thumb is not too great. Some dislocation on the finger, but not a fracture, which is why I could come and bat. I think when you lose a game, there are positives and negatives. From 70 for 6 to allowing them to 270-odd was not a great effort from the bowlers,

The Indian skipper is anticipated to miss the third game planned for December 10 in order to rest up for the Test series that begins on December 14. This is because the visitors have already lost the three-match series.
